Gyth Rigdon is no ordinary Louisiana country boy. He mixes southern rock, Country, and soul into a unique musical experience mixed with his down home roots that are sure to turn a head and thrill the crowd. Gyth Rigdon has the southern charm that drives the girls crazy and a smoky voice that will stop you in your tracks. Gyth was recently named the “Sexiest Voice, You’ve Never Heard,” by WhiskeyRiff saying, “Gyth Rigdon doesn’t hit a false note in his debut album, and his single “Body Language” is the kind of song that can make country music fans pay attention.”
Raised in the small town of Singer, Louisiana, where family is everything, Gyth grew up on a race horse farm working from Sun up to Sun Down, and was inspired by his dad to play the guitar and sing.
“My dad has been there since day one. I’m proud to say that he has supported me every step of the way. He has never doubted me and always pushed me to work harder. My dad is my hero.”
Music was always his outlet, a way to relax after a long day’s work. He also saw song writing as a way express himself. With his roots in Gospel music, no wonder he has so much soul in his vocals.
Music has always been a major part of Gyth’s Life, picking up the guitar and singing since the age of 3. When he turned 8 years old, Gyth had already started singing in church, entering talent shows, and even playing at private parties. Hard work, determination, faith and the love of Country Music has gotten him to where he is today. Between high school, long days on the farm, and gigs at night, his strong will and endless drive have paved the way to set his dreams in motion.
“At 18 I graduated high school and moved to Nashville, I didn’t know anybody… it was really nerve wracking. So before I left, I went and talked to my pastor at the church that I had been going to. He asked me what my plans were, and I said well if I don’t make it in a few years I’m going to come back home and get a job in the plants or something, and he said well don’t ever come back home and say that you didn’t make it, because you have achieved things that some people will never have the opportunity to achieve. So I live by that.. I strive by that.. and every night when I hit the stage .. I play by that!”
In 2016, his debut album “Where I Began,” and his first single “Body Language,” were both major successes, putting him on stage with major artists such as, Andy Grammar, Jake Owen, Chase Bryant, & Gary Allen. With over 2 million hits from across the globe, Gyth’s fan base is growing larger every day! “This is just a taste of what was to come,” Gyth said about his hot single “Body Language.” With the Now Available 2018 released album “WHEN I’M GONE”, Gyth is etching his name into Country Music at a rapid pace.
For Rigdon, this new project was inspired by a multitude of life experiences along with his family life. Gyth says “People will relate to these songs, they will cry with them and they will party with them.”
In true southern fashion, American Pride is at the center of every Gyth Rigdon Show! You won’t see him perform without the American Flag present on stage, and he never finishes a set without paying honor to our flag and our great Country with the National Anthem.
“It’s an honor to give back to those men and women who have given me my freedom, and taking a few minutes on stage to show them my appreciation is the least I can do.”
Gyth was recently named top 10 National finalist for Cumulus Broadcasting’s NASH NEXT Competition and performed for the top names in the business, Scott Borchettta, Desmond Child, and Brantley Gilbert. With Desmond Child giving him the ultimate honor from his comment on Rigdon’s performance of Body Language saying, “If you have 10 more songs like that… you are headed to the Grammy’s!”
With his fans and followers growing by the thousands every day, Gyth is set and ready to make his mark on the Country Music Scene. So get ready for the ride… because there is so much more to come!
